April Showers Bring More Than May Flowers…

As you all know, it is officially April in Georgia. With warmer weather comes some challenging things for Georgia outdoor lovers like our good friend, rain. Yes, the old adage ’April Showers Bring May Flowers’ is alive and well here, and while we are already seeing beautiful flowers blooming, the rain can also dampen plans, especially when the rain leads to a leaky roof. At ForLease Atlanta, we know that sometimes rental properties have some maintenance issues, such as a small leak, that the rain does not help. Here are some sneaky tips for submitting a maintenance request that will likely be responded to quickly and thoroughly. Work Order

  1. Go to the leasing office in person- Often times, especially when renting from a property management group, it is very convenient to do everything online. Paying your rent, finding local community events, and even submitting work orders, but it helps to actually go to your leasing office and speak to someone one-on-one about your concern/issue. This puts a name to a face, and often gets you quicker results.
  2. Explain, if necessary, the reason you need it fixed in a timely manner- This is not always necessary, and your work order is many times self-explanatory, but if an odd request, try telling your leasing office how it is impeding your life. It will elicit sympathy, and at least get your work order on their minds.
  3. When placing your work order, be pleasant-Of course, your work will get done regardless because you are paying for it, but the demeanor of the workman doing it can vary. Kindness begets kindness, so remember to be understanding that there may be other work order in front of yours (many apartments have a first come, first served policy) and remember, there is no need to be rude.
